This entry is part 5 of 10 in the series Briarpatch Review, No. 2, Messages from the Briarpatch

On a personal level, I would very much like to find out if there is anything that Briarpatch and I can do for each other. As far as skills other than writing, I am a pasta chef of some local renown, making both fettuccine and ravioli on my own machine. I know celestial navigation and engineering, though to date I have not put it to any more telling use than inventing a better mousetrap which releases the mouse unharmed. I do competent carpentry and masonry work and I have some skill as a sheet metal worker and used to install gas and oil furnaces. What I would really like to do is work with someone in steam engines, solar heating, wind power or whatever.
I love writing and intend to do it all my life but I have come to the conclusion that one has to do more than merely write–it simply makes your life too one-sided. So I’ll be looking forward to your next edition of Briarpatch Review and your next open meeting. In the meanwhile, if you can point any other members of Briarpatch in my direction I would be most grateful or suggest some people who might have some ideas.
